Ataúro Dive Resort
Ataúro Dive Resort is a small eco-resort with thatched bungalows and a shared bathroom right beside Beloi Beach. Breakfast is included with other meals by arrangement. The resort offers PADI-accredited dive courses, guided diving trips (ranging from single to multi-day), equipment rentals and an onsite specialized scuba diving center. Various kinds of accommodations are available. Garden rooms are cheapest (3 available, 2 with double beds and 1 with two singles) with a shared shower, common area, veranda and garden, and mountain view. Standard bungalows (2 available, 1 with a double and 1 with two singles) are beach-side with a shared shower, terrace, and sea view. Superior bungalows (2 available) have a double and single bed each and so are ideal for a small family with kids.
Ataúro Dive Resort is the first dive center on Ataúro. The dive resort was founded by Volker Katzung, a German Master Instructor with more than 25 years diving experience all over the world. His great passion for diving and marine conservation motivated him to establish the dive resort on Ataúro after living in Timor Leste for over 10 years and discovering many of the local dive sites. The resort recently won a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor in 2018.
Ataúro has a variety of diving sites ranging from slopes covered with coral gardens to dramatic walls draped with magnificent fans, sponges, whips and soft corals – the diverse architecture of her reef systems is what Timor-Leste is most famous for.
