Berau is a hamlet located in the south end of the island in Makadade Township, with a very small population. It has the largest spring which provides water for Makili, Vila, Beloi and Bikeli. Tourists may catch a local boat from various spots in this community by asking accommodations to arrange before traveling. There is also an MPA spot that divers will love to explore due to its rich biodiversity.
