Boat Tour to Akrema White Sand Beach
Akrema sits on the Northern tip of Ataúro and offers an unforgettable marine touring experience with its pristine water and bright white sand. Akrema is a place that everyone wants to see and no one wants to leave while on Ataúro! The sugar-like sand might be the most beautiful on this planet. Akrema has also been declared a Marine Protected Area (tara bandu in Tetum) and with this status it has become a safe haven for turtles and other endangered species. Snorkeling on this tara bandu will give you a chance to glimpse an array of marine life and globally protected species. Akrema also contains evidence of ancient burial methods in limestone caves nestled in the cliffs above the village that visitors will have the chance to view on this tour.
Please ensure that you apply sunscreen at least an hour before you snorkel or, better yet, use protective clothing so as to avoid sunscreen damaging our pristine reefs.
