Grupu Hakusara is a women’s pottery group established in 2013, located in the valley sub-village of Arlo. The community of Arlo is well known as home to the most talented ceramic craftsmen and potters, as the villagers used to sell their creations around the island prior to the introduction of modern kitchen and cooking utensils. The pottery became a trading commodity for many generations until now. A visitor can reach this village by either taking a 4 wheel drive truck or walking the hills towards Adara while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Once in the town, you won’t want to miss learning about the history and heritage of this rural community, tasting their local food and fresh coconuts.
