This exciting jeep tour covers a number of attractions in Anartutu, the capital of Suco Makadade that sits between two mountains, Manukoko and Maharubus. During the drive to Anartutu visitors can see the remains of an ancient Portuguese settlement in Ekmunu, as well as a stop at Eklaiula to enjoy its beautiful landscape. Makadade has an annual betel nut festival conducted in the middle of July each year. The remainder of year, Anartutu offers a handful of attractions rooted in community groups that can create in-depth experiences for tourists such as cultural dance and music, traditional fabric weaving, handicrafts, and blacksmithing.
