This beautiful stretch of sand is most visitors’ first introduction to Ataúro’s beauty when their boat arrives in Beloi. After a few hours on the seas, the calming white sand on the beach beckons you into the beauty and comfort of this peaceful island. This beach strip is the busiest area of the island, but it is also one of the most intriguing and vibrant. Strolling down the beach, you see fishermen both going and returning with their day’s wares, shuttle boats moving people back and forth from the mainland, and the few Dili expats meandering around on their holidays. If you happen to be here on a Saturday, you will see the whole island converging on the strip. Beloi Beach is the beating heart of the island.
