Community and Cultural Hike to Bikeli and Akrema
This tour provides a combination of the natural beauty of the mountains, scenic ocean views, and immersion in the culture of local people. Akrema offers the beauty of its white sand and stunning underwater life, while Bikeli, which is the center of community life, offers unique cultural experiences. Bikeli is blessed by a hot spring that has its own charm, where you can dip a toe in the scalding water and witness the steam rising from the pools. Walk by dense mangrove forests on your way from Bikeli to Akrema that have been protected by local communities for generations. You will have plenty of chances to drink a fresh coconut on this hike, and Bikeli also offers a variety of local foods made from ingredients just plucked from the fertile land surrounding the villages. You will have the chance to stop and snorkel while in Akrema–and we promise you won’t want to leave!
Please ensure that you apply sunscreen at least an hour before you snorkel or, better yet, use protective clothing so as to avoid sunscreen damaging our pristine reefs.
