Situated in Beloi, eastern Atauro, Compass Atauro Beach Eco Lodge is located a 5-minute walk from Beloi’s harbor and offers a great opportunity for a beachfront, quiet and breezy island treat. Our smiling staff is available to help you by sharing suggestion on island activities as well as willing to simply sit down for a chat over a delicious Timorese cup of coffee to talk about our passion for the island’s magnificent surrounding waters.

On-site, hammocks are spread around our large property for the ones who’d like to relax and world-class snorkeling is available just by walking from the shore in front of our Beach House. Off-site, a few beautiful hiking trails are easily accessible as well as a some of the island’s local handcraft shops, which we’d gladly help arranging transportation to.

We are glad to offer two possibilities of accommodation at our spacious lodge. Our tented units and beautiful villa.
1) Our ecologically built tents are mosquito-proof and comfortably ventilated. Toilet and shower facilities are shared and closely situated from the tents, which also offer a cozy seating area just in front.

2) Our villa is an option for the ones seeking a bit more of a treat when on the island. An air conditioned unit with an outdoor bathroom, it’s a unique option on Ataúro, with a beautiful varanda to enjoy the amazing views of Beloi.

Both provide the beautiful possibility of waking up to the stunning sunrise of Beloi, sipping on freshly made Timorese coffee while laying on a hammock feeling the ocean breeze… all this a few meters away from some of the world’s most biodiverse reefs!

(the property has a generator that operates certain times of the day when the island’s electricity isn’t running.)
